Exercise bikes are the ideal home exercise equipment. We are all advised to exercise for 30 minutes per day to stay healthy combined with a good balanced food intake. Most people complain of not having the time to go to the gym or prepare to out jogging etc but if it was for 30 minutes of TV I'd bet that time would be no problem. Why not combine the two, TV and exercise. Watching TV while exercising cuts out the boredom of being locked in a room looking at the four walls exercising. If you have a program you watch on a regular basis the time will only fly in.

Exercise bikes come in all wonderful styles from the basic stationary bike to built in programs for spinning and mountain courses. The best is what you can afford to pay, the main thing is that you are exercising regularly or intend to do so. The more basic exercise bike can cost anywhere from upwards and generally has a few different gears available to make the exercise more intense as you proceed with fitness. I have to say if you can afford to spend 0 you will find exercise bikes that have pre tuned exercise programs that are easy to follow and are a great way to burn fat.
How to Start:
Starting can be daunting but after a week or so you will find your fitness level improving and overall health. You need to introduce the body into the exercise for the first couple of days, for many people buying exercise bikes it's the first time they have done such an exercise in years. The first few days should be a slow introductory pace, if you go all out in the first day or so you will only end up with aching muscles and may even put you off exercising again. Remember that this is a marathon not a sprint.

The treadmill is a much higher impacting exercise on the joints and people with weak knees or ankles should be aware. If you decide to get an exercise bike with dual exercise (upper and lower body) you will burn more fat than that of the treadmill as you have no upper body resistance with the treadmill. There are arguments on both sides of the fence as to what is better the bike or the treadmill but you should look at your goals and see what suits both your budget and your target weight loss or general fitness. At the moment the cardio benefits to you as the user lies greater with the exercise dual function bike to that of the treadmill.

Proform has made several different styles of elliptical trainers through the years with a lot of successes. Proforms 10.0 is the newer improved model with the same high quality machine with some nice perks added in like the fan and Ifit card accessibility. The 10.0 ze is built very sturdy for its compact size. The steel frame construction gives it a respectable 275 pound weight limit, which is very high for a budget elliptical. You can fold the pedals and frame to save 3 feet of space while not in use which can ruin the overall integrity of the machine. However, the moving components are high quality and the areas are reinforced, so folding the machine will not ruin its structural integrity.
The Proform 10.0 ze Review for Performance
This is a great bargain elliptical that will give you a great work out, but it is not gym quality. What that means is if more than 2 people will be using the machine on a regular basis you may want to opt for a more expensive gym quality machine. Having said that for the price tag of 9 (online) it gives you the same quality elliptical motion that other much more expensive machines would give you.
Proform has heart monitoring, customized work outs and all the other standard features of any elliptical on the market. On top of that you also get an adjustable stride (13", 15" and 18") to work different muscle groups, it has forward and backward motion and is Ifit accessible. All you do is plug an Ifit card in and a certified personal trainer coaches you along through the speakers. Not only that but it keeps tabs of your work outs and automatically adjusts the intensity of the motion, distance traveled and heart rate goals.
Some of the other perks of this machine may not be completely necessary, but they are nice none the less. The fan works like a dashboard fan in your car to keep you from getting drenched in sweat. There is also a port to plug your MP3 player in, the machine has a fold down feature to save 3 feet of space when not in use and of course it includes a cup holder.
What You May Not Like
The Proform 10.0 ze is a good machine for a great price, but if you are larger (over 250 pounds) or planning on having several people use the machine spend a little extra to get a more reinforced gym quality elliptical. The same can be said if you really like to put your equipment through the ringer (work out for hours a day). Otherwise this is a great buy on a machine that will not disappoint you.
The Proform 10.0 ze is something of a beginners elliptical for the fitness fanatics of the world, but that's a bad rap. Any budget machine is not meant for higher weight capacities and lots of different users. The fold up feature alone is almost unheard of in ellipticals and makes this machine perfect for at home use.
